Neuroscience Faculty at Harvard
Harvard is home to hundreds of laboratories engaged in brain and nervous system research. Below is a directory of tenured and tenure-track faculty (at the assistant professor level or higher) leading these laboratories. This list includes basic researchers and physician-scientists who are part of many different departments, centers and programs at Harvard University and its affiliated hospitals. It is by no means exhaustive.
In addition to viewing or searching the list through the filters below, you may also navigate through faculty profiles by visiting our Research Areas page.
What happens in our brains as we learn to walk, swim or talk? How are the underlying learning algorithms implemented, and how are the honed skills encoded and generated by the nervous system? For many years, the Olveczky lab addressed these questions in songbirds, an experimentally tractable model that has given us many valuable insights into how complex motor sequences can be acquired.
