MCB professor Catherine Dulac was honored with the title of Officer of the Legion d’Honneur, France’s highest civilian award. The prestigious medal was presented to her by the French Ambassador at a special ceremony hosted by the French Consul in Cambridge, MA, on October 26th.

Takao Hensch, MCB Professor and Neurology Professor at Boston Children’s Hospital, will receive the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon—one of Japan’s highest civilian honors.

Haim Sompolinsky, a professor in residence in Harvard’s Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology and Department of Physics and a member of the Center for Brain Science, has received the Brain Prize for his pioneering contributions to computational and theoretical neuroscience.

This past March, Professor of Neurobiology and former HBI co-director Mike Greenberg was announced as an awardee for the prestigious Brain Prize by the Lundbeck Foundation. On June 6th, Mike was presented his award at a ceremony in Denmark by Crown Prince Frederik.

Corey Harwell was interviewed for a SFN Neuronline feature on diversifying the field through mentorship and scientific exposure.

Prof. Dulac was honored for deconstructing the complex behavior of parenting to the level of cell-types and their wiring, and demonstrating that the neural circuits governing both male and female-specific parenting behaviors are present in both sexes.

Kelsey Tyssowski, postdoc in Hopi Hoekstra's lab at Harvard, received a Life Sciences Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship

Stephanie Roberts, HMS instructor in pediatrics and an attending physician in the Division of Endocrinology at Boston Children’s Hospital, was named by the Society for Pediatric Research as the recipient of the 2020 Bridging to Success Award.

The McGovern Institute announced that HBI co-director Joshua Sanes has been selected for the 2020 Edward M. Scolnick Prize in Neuroscience, in recognition of his pioneering research into the way synapses are built.

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) presented its highest honor, the Ralph W.Gerard Prize in Neuroscience, to Michael Greenberg and Catherine Dulac.

Her research shows how neurons outside of the brain — those that control the sensation of touch — can alter brain function and shape select behaviors associated with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

The 2019 Cowan Award was presented to Dr. Joshua R. Sanes for outstanding contributions in developmental neuroscience.

The College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD) has presented McLean Hospital’s Bertha K. Madras, PhD, with its Innovator Award.

Harvard University has received a $20 million gift from philanthropists Lisa Yang and Hock Tan, an alumnus of Harvard Business School, to establish The Hock E. Tan and K. Lisa Yang Center for Autism Research at Harvard Medical School.

This award is the highest honor given by the Learning Disabilities Association of America. It's given annually in recognition of and appreciation for outstanding leadership at the national level.

This award is given by the American Society of Addiction Medicine and recognizes work that has significantly contributed to solving the problem of alcoholism.

These awards are given by the National Academy of Science to recognize extraordinary scientific achievements in a wide variety of fields.

Along with along with Larry Zipursky, Josh Sanes has been awarded the 2018 Perl-UNC Neuroscience Prize for the “discovery of cell-surface proteins that control circuit assembly in the visual system.”

Isaac Chiu and Debora Marks were awarded Ben Barres Early Career Acceleration Awards. David Walt and George Church were awarded a Collaborative Science Award by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
