Awards and Honors From July 2021

MGH Neurosurgeon Bob Carter has been selected as one of three Honored Guests at the Congress of Neurological Surgeons 2021 annual meeting.

MCO Alum Jenelle Wallace (Ph.D. ‘20) Receives Schmidt Science Fellowship.

Haleh Fotowat (postdoc, lab of Florian Engert) was profiled by the Harvard Molecular and Cellular Biology Department.

Erin Duffy (postdoc, lab of Mike Greenberg) competed in the US National Irish Dancing Championships in Phoenix, AZ on July 6th. She placed first out of 104 dancers in the Ladies 22 & Over category and has qualified for the 2022 World Championships in Belfast, Ireland. The $10 million Lone Star Prize was awarded to Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute for its competition entry, the “Lone Star Depression Challenge.” In collaboration with the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine in the Blavatnik Institute at Harvard Medical School, the Center for Depression Research and Clinical Care at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and The Path Forward for Mental Health and Substance Use.

Nancy Oriol has received Massachusetts Medical Society’s 2021 Reducing Health Disparities Award.

Marc Fisher was named to receive the American Heart Association’s Gold Heart Award.

Ashley Cooper, Ralph Estanboulieh, Kathleen Ran, and William Stainier win Hoopes Prize for Undergraduate Thesis Work.
