Awards and Honors from September 2022

Frederick Alt, the HMS Charles A. Janeway Professor of Pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital, along with Yale Professor David Schatz, will be awarded the 2023 Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize, Germany’s highest medical award.

Jonah PearlLucy Lai, and Lisa Goodrich were selected as the inaugural Department of Neurobiology Service Awardees by the Neurobiology Department at HMS. These awards celebrate each individual’s immense contributions to the department’s mission of advancing community engagement and promoting inclusivity.

Hopi E. Hoekstra, Professor of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, was awarded a Lowell Thomas Award by the Explorer’s Club.

Maya Woolfolk, a PhD candidate in the lab of Hopi Hoekstra, has been awarded the 2022 Gilliam Fellowship for Advanced Study from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Xin Gu, research fellow in the Department of Neurobiology, along with her sponsor Michael Greenberg, named as a Damon Runyon fellow.

Rachel Conrad, HMS instructor in psychiatry at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, has been named a 2022 USA Justice Fellow by the Eisenhower Fellowships.

Gabriel Romero, a research fellow in the Department of Neurobiology at HMS, has been named a 2022 Hanna Gray Fellow by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
