As an administrative lead for HBI, Parizad works with the faculty co-directors, Provost’s Office, steering committee and staff to run grant programs, scientific events and communications for the initiative. She spends time on both the Longwood and Cambridge campuses of Harvard, as part of the initiative’s effort to bring together the neuroscience communities on both sides of the Charles. What she most enjoys about working at HBI is the chance to learn about new research projects and discoveries and the opportunity to interact with people at varied career stages, in diverse areas of neuroscience. She often serves as a ‘connector’ between different campus groups.

Parizad came to HBI in 2016 after serving as the Director of Programing and Outreach at the Conte Center at Harvard led by Prof. Takao Hensch. She is a graduate of the Harvard PhD Program in Neuroscience and holds a BS/MS in Neuroscience and Minor in Creative Writing from Brandeis University.
