Neural Interfaces for Neuroprosthetic Control: Leveraging Mechanoreception For Sensory Feedback, Motility, and Satiety

This talk will elucidate new strategies in reconstructive surgical design and devices for peripheral nerve interfacing to restore sensory and motor control for amputees with advanced prostheses. It will also explore the neural interfacing of gastric mechanoreceptors through ingestible electronics for motility and the modulation of hunger/satiety. These approaches give way to a new design framework that can optimize and eventually dissolve the interface between the human body and devices.
