Today the Paul G. Allen Frontiers Group announced a $10M grant to launch the Allen Discovery Center for Human Brain Evolution at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Taking a multidisciplinary approach to investigating when and how the human brain evolved and what genes were critical for this process, the center will be led by Christopher A. Walsh, MD, PhD, Chief of the Division of Genetics and Genomics at Boston Children’s — in partnership with HBI Co-Director Michael E. Greenberg, PhD, Chair of the HMS Neurobiology Department and David E. Reich, PhD, of the HMS Genetics Department.
