I work in the admin office for the Neurobiology Department. In my job I wear a couple of hats. I do HR/onboarding, event planning/coordinating, and I assist with other general administrative functions of the department, including managing the communal rooms and department-wide communications.

What did you study in college?
I have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from NYU, with a minor in French. In school, I also held a work-study position in the admissions office of the drama department at the Tisch School of the Arts. This position was a real treat of my college years, as I got to meet so many interesting people (ever heard of Adam Sandler?), and learn so much about the admissions process, theatre, and what school was like for students in a major almost completely opposite of mine. It also motivated me to look for a position like the one I have now, as I learned that it was really fun and rewarding for me to familiarize myself with a whole department and all the inner workings of it.

What is the trait you most admire in others?
I most admire when people are optimistic. I’ve found that I feel the best when I spend time with people who see the best in things, and who look for the good. It doesn’t come very naturally to me, so it’s especially admirable to me when others have that outlook.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy crafting, including collaging and doing paint by numbers! I have a paint by number hanging right by my desk! I have a collage that will be part of the Harvard Staff Art show this year, which I’m very excited about. I also have a wonderful dog named Kirby who takes up much of my time outside of work. Otherwise, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and re-watching Gilmore Girls.
