This talk will describe advances in functional neuroimaging and how they are transforming the understanding of psychiatric disorders through the localization and characterization of brain circuit abnormalities. Studies of depression, PTSD and schizophrenia will be discussed as a neuroscientific foundation for future clinical interventions.
