EXPLORING MICRO AND MACRO WORLDS

Adam E. Cohen, Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology and of Physics, Departments of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Harvard University
Dimitar Sasselov, Phillips Professor of Astronomy, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, Director, Origins of Life Initiative, Harvard University

The human eye is an amazing organ, but it only enables us to see a small fraction of the physical world.

With the aid of light and special instruments, however, it is possible to see and study a world that would otherwise be invisible. Adam Cohen and Dimitar Sasselov will discuss the role of light in expanding our ability to “see” and describe new advances in light-based technologies.
