Graduate Student / Network Stimulation Laboratory

I am currently finalizing my Ph.D. within the Network Stimulation Lab, led by Andreas Horn, in the Department of Neurology at Charité University Medicine Berlin. Besides, I am also a fellow of the Einstein Center for Neurosciences and the Berlin School of Mind and Brain. Priorly, I earned a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Vienna, specializing in cognitive neurosciences.

Rooted in a circuit-based framework, my research seeks to deepen our understanding of the network effects of invasive neuromodulation in relation to transdiagnostic domains of brain dysfunction, particularly for neuropsychiatric symptoms such as compulsivity. Our lab’s approach involves a synthesis of advanced connectomic neuroimaging with neuromodulation data. Specifically, we trace structural (derived from dMRI) and functional (derived from resting-state fMRI) connectivity profiles of effective deep brain stimulation (DBS) electrodes across diverse brain circuit disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and Tourette’s syndrome.

Ultimately, I hope to contribute insights that may augment the precision of brain circuit therapeutics by allowing to tailor treatment to individual patients’ unique symptom profiles. In second instance, I explore neuromodulation as a tool to better comprehend the intricate connections between neuroanatomy and dysfunction within the human brain.

Beyond my academic pursuits, I am a cyclophile and art enthusiast who enjoys exploring Berlin’s cultural scene, often found capturing moments through drawing and photography.
