Technical Research Assistant II / Lab of Dennis Selkoe, MD
I am a research assistant in the Selkoe lab where we optimize biochemical assays to study blood based biomarkers for Alzheimer’s Disease (e.g. amyloid beta and tau species). During my undergraduate (at Spelman College) and graduate training (at Morehouse School of Medicine) I used bioinformatic approaches to detect novel transcripts from RNA-Seq blood profiles to improve diagnosis and prediction of Alzheimer’s Disease. In my future career I hope to delve deeper into investigating neurodevelopmental disorders as a physician scientist. Outside of lab I enjoy being outdoors (hiking, biking, gardening), getting children excited about science, reading philosophy, and practicing capoeira.
