Alexandra Rodman
Postdoctoral Research Fellow / Stress and Development Lab, Psychology

I am an incoming Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Center for Cognitive and Brain Health at Northeastern University starting July 2023. I completed my PhD (Psychology, Clinical Science) and Postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. I completed my clinical internship at the Boston VA and earned my BA in Clinical Psychology at Tufts University.

I am a Clinical Psychologist by training. My interdisciplinary research bridges developmental cognitive neuroscience and clinical science. My work centers on the social worlds of teens, examining how social experiences interact with ongoing cognitive and brain development to increase risk for mental health problems during adolescence, a period of heightened vulnerability. This work lays the foundation for future translational clinical research, ultimately aimed at improving the wellbeing of adolescents. My research has been funded by foundation and federal grants, including the American Psychological Foundation and National Institute of Mental Health.

My interests outside of work historically included drawing, singing, and anything near the water. Now, I can be found doing a slightly modified version of these things with my daughter Layla (e.g., heavily influenced by Disney).
