David Ginty, the Edward R. and Anne G. Lefler Professor and Chair of Neurobiology at HMS, an HHMI investigator, and co-director of the Harvard Brain Science Initiative was awarded the 2026 Brain Prize by the Lundbeck Foundation, along with Patrik Ernfors of the Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.
Maxim Prigozhin, Assistant Professor in MCB and Applied Physics, and Daniel Hochbaum, HMS Assistant Professor Department of Medicine, Endocrinology at BIDMC, have been awarded the 2026 Maximizing Innovation in Neuroscience Discovery (MIND) Prize. This competitive award supports high-risk, high-impact ideas in neuroscience, with a particular focus this year on neurodegenerative disease.
Isaac Chiu and Stephen Liberles, faculty at Harvard Medical School have been selected to receive an award from Cancer Grand Challenges, a global funding initiative that enables efforts to take on some of the most complex problems in cancer research today. Their project will investigate interactions between cancer and the nervous system
Mariella Filbin, HMS associate professor of pediatrics at Boston Children’s and Dana Farber, received the Emerging Leader Award from the Mark Foundation for Cancer Research.
Amar Dhand, HMS associate professor of neurology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, was awarded the Stroke Rehabilitation Award from the American Stroke Association (ASA).
Zhiyu (Roman) Yan, PhD Student in Biostatistics, Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, was awarded the Vascular Cognitive Impairment Award from the American Stroke Association (ASA).
Shenghua Zhu, HMS clinical fellow in radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, has received a 2026 ARRS Resident/Fellow in Radiology award from the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS).
