The goal of my thesis work is to understand how sex hormones signal to enteric neurons to regulate behaviors, including GI motility and visceral pain. Moreover, I am interested in understanding mirobe-neuron crosstalk in the gut by examining how microbes can regulate levels of circulating sex hormones which then can affect behavior.
I am passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across DMS. I previously founded the Social Issues in Biology JC at HMS and now working on a project, funded in part by the Neuro DEI group, to generate a “Race in Biological Sciences” journal club series which will be available online for labs to use.
I am currently the sitting president of the Harvard GSAS Science Policy Group.
I am also a passionate member of the BCH Green Labs working group.
