My research is focusing on how transcriptional regulation modulate brain functions during aversive olfactory learning at whole genome level and single neuron resolution in C. elegans.

I did my PhD work at University of Basel and ETH Zurich in Switzerland, where I investigated the genetic basis underlying social interactions between parent and offspring, found over 1600 genes associated with parenting, and provided causal evidence for two genes coordinating selfishness and altruism, suggesting roles of dopaminergic reward and chemical perception in parent-offspring coadaptation and social evolution.
