Postdoctoral Fellow / Lab of Hopi Hoekstra, Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology

I am a postdoc in the Hoekstra lab in the Molecular and Cellular Biology/Organismic and Evolutionary Biology departments. I compare different subspecies of deer mice (Peromyscus maniculatus) with dramatic, innate behavioral differences: mice that evolved in forests, which are good at climbing, and those that evolved in prairies, which are bad at climbing. I am using this comparison to understand how the nervous system enables skilled locomotion. I am also involved in postdoc advocacy with the FAS Postdoc Association and enjoy participating in science outreach activities, such as Skype a Scientist.
