Research Assistant II & Co-Lab Manager / Lab of Jonathan Lipton, F.M. Kirby Neurobiology Center

Hello! I joined the Lipton Lab in July 2022 after graduating from UC Berkeley with a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology, with an emphasis in immunology and pathogenesis, and a double minor in Global Studies and Politics, Philosophy, and Law. At the Lipton Lab, I investigate the non-canonical roles of a core circadian clock protein BMAL1 using cell signaling assays, molecular cloning, biochemical approaches, cellular imaging, and mouse models. We are particularly interested in its synaptic functions and have recently published a manuscript describing its role in regulating temporal synaptic plasticity. Previously, at UC Berkeley, I worked in Professor Ksenia Krasileva’s lab on a project aiming to re-engineer pathogen recognition in plants to subvert their lack of an adaptive immune system. I also worked in the lab of Professor Eva Harris investigating potential inhibitors of NS1-mediated flavivirus infection. Outside of research, I am very interested in STEM outreach and was part of several organizations during my undergraduate time dedicated to doing so. I also enjoy reading, collecting vinyl records, and exploring Boston!
